People

People verses dreadlocks is a very interesting show to watch. I've been watching it every day for the past six and a half months. It has a lot of variety, because there are plenty of people who like dreadlocks. There are also plenty who don't.
When I walked through the halls on that Monday, my first day back at school with dreads, I got some pretty serious looks. I think most of them looked pretty scared. First of all, I'm white. I go to a mostly black-and-asian school in North Minneapolis and there, dreads on a white chick are pretty fucking weird. Second of all, they were brand new dreadlocks, so they were frizzy and sticking out in every direction. And third, they were pink. Bright bubblegum pink beanstalks shooting out of my head, bouncing as I hopped down the hallway, grinning away. I didn't mind the looks. I kind of liked them, actually.
I get questions all the time; at work, at school, at the bus bus stop, at the mall. Everywhere. I think the three most-asked questions are probably, "Do you wash them?", "Is that your real hair?", and "Can you take them out?"
Someday, I'll compile a list of questions I get asked a lot, but not today because it's late. Happy December, internet world.
